IWC Schaffhausen supported the “Silver Spitfire-The Longest Flight” as the main sponsor a few days ago. Next summer a silver chrome spitfire will fly from London, starting its worldwide travel. The aircraft built in 1943 will fly over 43,000 kilometers during several months, covering about 30 countries. The expedition project was aiming to pay tribute to the exquisite aircraft in England with accurate aesthetic design and extraordinary engineered design. IWC has built a long-term partnership with Boultbee Flight Academy that is the first officially sanctioned spitfire flight academy.
IWC has a more than 80 years history of making pilot’s wristwatches and it has ever created a lot of high-performance copy wristwatches special edition especially for spitfires. The close attention on this project this time has proved the undying passion on the aircraft industry. Meanwhile, the innovative engineered and aesthetic design has been reflected in the exquisite IWC pilot’s watches. Let’s have a look at one of the Spitfire models. IWC imitation watch with slate-colored dial glistens charming metallic luster which is a tribute to the gray fuselage of the plane.
There’s a pattern of spitfire engraved on the back of IWC Pilot’s fake watch with stainless steel bracelet, embodying the relationship between the brand and the Spitfire project. The aircraft is now being carefully maintained and each part has been meticulously hand-polished to show a shiny luster, giving the fuselage a dazzling silver appearance. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the brilliance of this jet in the spring of 2019 and at that time it will be renamed “Silver Spitfire”.
